BCWWA Awards

The BCWWA Awards are presented to individuals and organizations for their outstanding achievements in the water and wastewater industry and for their commitment and support to the BCWWA.

Awards are announced every year at the BCWWA Annual Conference & Trade Show.

Currently, six (6) awards are presented in two categories:

Industry Excellence

These awards recognize leaders and innovators in the water and wastewater sector in BC and the Yukon.

This prestigious award recognizes sound engineering skill, constructive leadership and distinguished service to the water sector. The recipients of this award are also recognized by our affiliate organization, the American Water Works Association (AWWA) .

Criteria:

  • A current member of AWWA.
  • Has demonstrated outstanding leadership or made a significant contribution to the advancement of the water industry.

The nomination system for the 2025 AWWA George Warren Fuller Award is now CLOSED.

This award recognizes a current EOCP-certified operator in British Columbia or the Yukon who has demonstrated long-standing, excellence, leadership and impact in the field.

Criteria:

  • A current EOCP-certified operator in BC or the Yukon.
  • Has demonstrated cumulative achievements over several years in proficient and improved facility operations and/or maintenance.
  • Is recognized as a role model and leader.

The nomination system for the 2025 Victor M. Terry Operator Award is now CLOSED.

This award recognizes a individual or group that demonstrates innovation and excellence that advances the water and wastewater industry.

Criteria:

  • They are an individual or group based in BC or the Yukon.
  • They have demonstrated cumulative achievements over several years. Examples include technology, innovation, relationship-building, leadership, new legislation, research, planning or policy.

The nomination system for the 2025 Excellence & Innovation Water & Waste Industry Award is now CLOSED.

Service to the BCWWA

These awards recognize individuals and organizations who have consistently and meaningfully contributed to and supported the work of the BCWWA over many years. They have enabled the Association to make positive change in the water industry and helped create and deliver valuable programs and services to their fellow members. The BCWWA values their contributions, and through these awards celebrates and recognizes them.

This award recognizes a current member who has brought outstanding and continued service to the BCWWA.

Criteria:

  • A current member of the BCWWA
  • Has contributed actively, continuously and meaningfully to the BCWWA over the last ten years (e.g., committee, board, project, etc.)
  • Has volunteered in a leadership role

The nomination system for the 2025 Stanley S. Copp Award is now CLOSED.

This award recognizes emerging talent and outstanding service to the BCWWA.

Criteria:

  • Current member of the BCWWA (under 35 years old)
  • Has contributed actively, continuously and meaningfully to the BCWWA over the last three years (e.g., committee, project, etc.)
  • Volunteered in a leadership role with the BCWWA

The nomination system for the 2025 Young Professionals Award is now CLOSED.

This award recognizes significant corporate or collective contribution to the success of the BCWWA.

Criteria:

  • Group or organization has significantly supported employees’ time on the BCWWA Board, committees, or projects
  • Group or organization has supported employee memberships with the BCWWA or its affiliated organizations
