Committees

The BC Water & Waste Association (BCWWA) hosts a variety of volunteer-based committee groups comprising of industry leaders and subject-matter experts who help identify and address current and emerging issues in the water sector. They provide input on BCWWA programs and services, organize professional development events and offer feedback on relevant policies, regulations and guidelines.

Committee members must be a current BCWWA member in good standing.

Conference Planning Committee

Contributes ideas and expertise to help plan BCWWA’s Annual Conference & Trade Show, ensuring an engaging, educational and valuable experience for all attendees.

Cross Connection Control Technical Advisory Committee

Provides expert advice regarding cross connection control programming in BC and Yukon and helps inform BCWWA’s cross connection control training, certification and advocacy work.

Drinking Water Technical Advisory Committee

Supports the BCWWA by sharing timely, evidence-based information to help the drinking water sector protect public health and the environment.

Reconciliation Committee

Committed to furthering the status of reconciliation within the BC water sector and provide direction on implementing actionable measures to be taken by the BCWWA. Learn about our Commitment to Reconciliation.

SCADA & OT Technical Advisory Committee

Advises the BCWWA on issues related to the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and operational technology (OT) sector and helps shape relevant training, events, and policy initiatives. Learn about our biennial SCADA & OT Conference & Trade Show.

Student Design Competition Planning Committee

Helps deliver the annual BCWWA Student Design Competition, which challenges students to solve real-world water and wastewater issues with innovative solutions and prepares them for leadership in the sector.

Young Professionals Committee

Creates networking opportunities for early-career professionals to connect, learn and lead. The Committee helps shape BCWWA programs that support the growth and success of young professionals in BC and Yukon.
